The Chelan PUD Customer Bill Assistance Program provides a 25% discount on monthly bills for income-qualified households served by Chelan County Public Utility District. Chelan PUD is partnering with Promise to provide a fast and easy application online. You can read more about the program at chelanpud.org/discounts.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Active residential utility account with Chelan PUD
  • Household income ≤ 80% of Area Median Income or 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, adjusted for household size. You can view these thresholds and read more about program requirements at our FAQ.

Note: If you already receive the low-income senior or disabled discount, you will automatically be enrolled in the new program. You do not need to re-apply.

You may need to provide proof of your income eligibility, such as:

  • Documentation of all income earned in the past month for everyone in your household OR
  • A current award letter, dated within the last 12 months or showing current participation, from one of the following programs: SNAP (Basic Food); SSI (Supplemental Security Income); Medicaid (Apple Health); LIHEAP; TANF; WIC; see a full list of programs below

  • USDA Section 504 Home Repair Program

  • Women, Infants & Children (WIC)
  • Housing Improvement Program (HIP)

Examples of proof

  • For income: pay stubs; written statement from employer; Social Security or pension statements; self-employment records (see full list)
  • For benefits programs: benefits letter or statement
